Within the scope of the project undertaken by our company, a comprehensive Watershed Conservation Plan is being prepared for the İhsaniye Reservoir to ensure long-term protection and improvement of water quality. The study includes detailed assessments of the basin’s physical structure, hydrology, hydrogeology, topography and ecological characteristics, while domestic, industrial, agricultural and diffuse pollution sources are identified using GIS-based spatial analysis.
The project updates the absolute, short-, medium- and long-range protection zones of the reservoir and evaluates pollution loads, monitoring points, drainage patterns and high-risk land use areas. Land use pressures, mining activities, wastewater discharges and solid waste sources are analyzed to assess their impacts on water quality, supported by scientifically grounded water quality modelling. The resulting conservation plan provides a practical and sustainable management framework to ensure long-term protection of the İhsaniye Reservoir and secure drinking water supply for the region.
