An ecosystem assessment report was prepared as part of the project. Through field surveys and detailed site studies, the flora and fauna diversity within and around the planned marble quarry area was identified. Potential environmental impacts arising from dust emissions, noise, and waste rock deposition were examined, particularly focusing on their influence on the lake ecosystem and surrounding habitats.
Additionally, the possible effects of the quarry operations on groundwater resources, including the springs feeding Acıgöl, were evaluated. Special emphasis was placed on determining whether the activity would have any negative impact on the water resources used by the residents of Gemiş Neighbourhood. Based on scientific analyses, a set of environmental mitigation measures was proposed to minimize potential impacts.
